Winnie is a member of the corporate, commercial and compliance practice group of the firm. Her work has included coordinating compliance activities of corporate clients, facilitating commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate due diligence and seamless business registration in Nigeria on behalf of local and international clients. She also provides legal advisory services on various aspects of the operations of companies, in particular the setting up of local subsidiaries; labour and immigration issues such as setting up of private pension schemes, obtaining expatriate quotas and work permits; and compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
She regularly interfaces with officials of the Corporate Affairs Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies such as the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Trademark, Patent and Design Registries, Nigerian Immigrations, and relevant tax authorities in Nigeria.
She operates from the firm’s office in Abuja where she has ready access to key regulatory bodies.
