Mabel Ekeke is a senior associate and undertakes a broad range of work in the firm’s litigation, corporate and commercial, financing and dispute resolution practice groups. She also works closely with the energy and natural resources group.

With a strong background in international commercial litigation and international financing, Mabel handles a wide range of complex high profile commercial litigation for first tier financial institutions, regulators in the oil & gas and finance sectors amongst others. She represents clients in all the sectors in civil disputes & proceedings and participates in domestic and international arbitration.

Mabel has an eye for details, as a result, she consistently represents clients in cross border commercial transactions, including M&A deals that involves fund management, compliance issues, regulatory clearance, data issues, asset transactions and capital implication amongst others. She implements innovative litigation strategies relating to the mergers.

Recent transactional experiences include advising indigenous petroleum company in a successful cross border joint venture/asset sale transaction, where its bitumen business was transferred to an SPV and substantial equity transferred to a prominent international energy company. Structuring and negotiating vessel acquisition and management deals involving multi-currency syndicated loans. She negotiated the Power Purchase Agreement, Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement inter alia for an Independent Power Project as well as several Debt Settlement Agreements resulting in the recovery of billions of Naira for tier 1 Banks in Nigeria.
